An L-banner (L-frame) is a CTV display format where the content plays in a reduced window while the brand's creative occupies the bottom and right side of the screen in an L-shape. Content does not pause — the viewer watches live content with the brand message in their peripheral view. Used primarily during live cricket and sports coverage.
How it works: Content window shrinks to ~70% of screen; the remaining L-shaped area (bottom strip + right column) fills with brand creative. Duration: 10–30 seconds. Content returns to full screen after.
India availability:
- JioCinema: IPL packages only — part of associate sponsorship deals, not a standalone CPM buy. Requires significant minimum spend.
- Hotstar: Available for Star Sports live cricket, Pro Kabaddi League, other live sports. Direct deal or via agency relationship.
When to use: Live sports sponsorship where persistent brand presence alongside the content matters — complement to video pre-roll, not a replacement. Design specifically for the L-frame dimensions (bottom strip + right column); do not adapt a horizontal banner.
